We often hear stories of Indians tying the knot the traditional way on the other side of the globe, yet the wedding tale of Sonali and Kush is extraordinary.

Bonding as foodie friends and then gradually progressing to seeing each other, the two lovebirds made a new beginning on 30 June 2022 through a traditional ceremony at Madison Greenhouse, Canada.
Decked up gracefully in a red wedding lehenga from Asopalav, Sonali’s bridal moments and floral-themed set-up takes us through the magic of classic rituals and the fun and frolic inherent to Indian weddings. Recreating the legacy with complete authenticity in Canada was a dream come true, much to the effort of @blissbeginnings and @thesignature.eventcompany.

Her beautiful wedding pictures, captured by @kreative_kams, have our excitement levels rising for a peek into the five-year-long journey of Sonali, and her beau, Kush.
From Sharing Food to Exchanging Hearts
Trying out new cafes and restaurants sounds like a perfect date plan! The two foodies in Canada thus went on exploration while creating a comfort zone for each other. Kush’s humorous nature struck a chord with Sonali, who eventually realized that Kush would be her best friend for the rest of her life.

Love and laughter over interactions- wasn’t that enough to cherish and take things ahead? Hold on, here comes The Moment – that gave Sonali a reason to smile amidst the 2020 pandemic wave.
A Fairy-tale Proposal
Every girl dreams about a romantic proposal that ought to be the most beautiful surprise. And we applaud how smartly Kush made it happen by staging a fake office party! From sending a dummy invitation to ensuring that Sonali looked gorgeous for the special evening by the lakeshore in Toronto Downtown, Kush executed his plan perfectly. (all guys reading this- better take some cues!)

An excited but nervous Kush softly popped the question to Sonali under the Toronto skyline- who reverted to every romantic arrangement and, of course – all the love- with an emphatic Yes! That’s a beautiful moment to even think about, isn’t it?
The Wedding Excitement
Covid has undoubtedly been harsh for people of all ages and walks of life. The pandemic threw up a crazy challenge before all couples planning to take wedding vows- after all, who would enjoy an Indian ceremony with just ten attendees? Sonali and Kush, too, went through the delay grind and how- time added more sweetness to their feelings!

The post-vaccination period of 2022 finally gave them the liberty they wanted for a full-fledged Indian wedding- with all the desi swag and dramatic moments. After all, an Indian, anywhere on the globe, is always an Indian at heart!
The couple’s wedding planner created just the right flowery decor amidst the botanical charm of Madison Greenhouse, with plenty of Gujarati and Punjabi savories to serve their massive crowd of well-wishers. And how could we miss mentioning the special Bubble Tea they arranged for the guests- a thoughtful add-on for a summery celebration!
Her Dream Wedding Wardrobe
Yellow for Haldi, Green for Mehendi, and classic red for the wedding ceremony – having a sorted color code gave Sonali a headstart to finalize her wedding outfits in time. And we are delighted to tell you that this beautiful bride-to-be chose Asopalav as a one-stop shop for her Big Day!

Choosing Asopalav’s video shopping facility, Sonali took a virtual visit to our store that showcases eclectic, hand-crafted luxury wear. So, was it easy for the bride to choose her perfect wedding looks from the other side of the globe? Well, Sonali’s answer to our question was a spontaneous Yes!
While keeping the ceremonial look timeless with the quintessential red lehenga, Sonali opted for a minimalistic pastel lehenga for the Mehendi and a sassy peplum palazzo suit for the Pithi (Haldi) function.
Wedding Highlights

From taking a sneak peek of the baraat to dancing her way to the mandap, Sonali cherished her bridal moments. After all, nothing can replace the precious feeling of new beginnings!
