Let’s get to know all about this majestic mega wedding from the cutesy bride herself. Here are the excerpts from our interview with Purvi –
Q. Fate or Families?
A. Well, friends… Let’s also say, our good fortune 🙂
Q. Instant sparks or a slow-mo romance?
A. Both! Connection was quite swift – an effortless friendship followed. After almost a year, we had to accept that the elfish cupid had struck his love arrows. And, so began the dating game.
Q. Sweet! You talked about an instant connection. What was it like?
A. I first saw him hanging out with our mutual friends at the student cafeteria. I still cannot get over those broody, deep eyes that, sort of, drowned me. 🙂
Q. So, what made you finally jump into the love pool?
A. Haha, once we decided to test the waters further, I was struck by his genuineness and his ability to love to the fullest. That made me choose him as my partner for life.
Q.‘…ability to love to the fullest’…?
A. His love is unconditional. He’s always there for his friends, family, and obviously, me. Emotionally, physically, mentally – every way – when needed. And, in doing so, he forgets about any hesitation or personal inconvenience.
Q. Wow! The proposal must have been special, then?
A. It was…pure magic! I can talk about it for hours 🙂 Sohil planned it for 11 months, taking care of every detail. I am so fortunate to have experienced this grand gesture.
My friends and family had been involved at every step. They were all in attendance – each one carrying a gorgeous rose – making the proposal super precious. Can’t stop gushing about the moment, and the stunning custom-made ring that adorned my hand soon after. I literally walked the red carpet – in a picturesque tent that Sohil had specially rented. As I walked in, he strummed my favorite ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. And then, my knight gently bent down on one knee to propose…
Q. Ooohh, dreamy! And, the wedding preparations?
A. We took our own sweet time to meticulously plan each detail. There wasn’t a set theme, though. Then, Covid happened. Wedding was pushed back by a whole year. Taking that in our stride, we kept forging ahead. Sohil scoured 60 venues, before we sealed the ‘one’. With tonnes of natural light and large windows, Hilton Penn’s Landing instantly struck a chord. Its proximity to a lake and location further ticked the right boxes.
A. The forage for event designers led us to many, till we zeroed on NP Events and Abhishek Decorators. Inspired by Abhishek and his excellent team’s creativity and zest, we swiftly brought them on board. Their rapt attention to what we had to say impressed us, and so did their stylish artistic touches. Their execution of our favourite idea of rustic pillars and background was stunning!
Q. Now, one of the most time-consuming aspects of any wedding – the outfits?
A. Haha, thanks to Asopalav and its amazing team, this was an easy and enjoyable experience. Yeah, the D-Day lehenga took a whole day to be finalized – but that was mostly due to my preoccupation with the Indian bridal red-maroon favourite. I kept trying one grand traditional lehenga after another, until Sohil pointed me towards the off-beat off-white/rose gold palette. And, here it was! I fell in love with the peachy beige neutral hued dress…
Q. Cool. So, what made the process easy?
A. The dextrous dressers at Asopalav store, their precise selections, the private dressing room we used to see how each ensemble would appear draped on me, the umpteen options, service – everything was just amazing. Asopalav’s team worked keenly with me – to bring to life the reception dress I conceptualized. It was custom made, as per my specifications!
A. Well, it was all Asopalav. Tailored, personalised, just perfect! Our families were so happy that the entire wedding outfits’ shopping process was so seamless – and so satisfying 🙂
Q. Happy to be of service 🙂 Any special wedding moments you want to share with us…
A. For us – Sohil and I – every moment we spent planning, shopping, executing and living the ceremony is perfect and precious. The first glance we exchanged, as I entered the venue as the bride – is my most magical memory. For Garba, Sohil rode a Riskshaw – with me in the back seat. Reception overflowed with love, cheer and charm – amidst all heart-warming toasts and speeches. It is very very special. Everyone enjoyed it to the hilt – thanks to great food and ambience.
Well, isn’t this simply awesome. The loving duo finally started a magical chapter of their life – after so much waiting – thanks to Covid. We wish this beautiful couple a life aglow with togetherness, gorgeousness and laughter always.
