Nature, Lights and Colors - The Dream Wedding of Pooja and Nishant
When you know you have met the ‘One’, your heart instantly knows, but your mind asks hundred questions, poses umpteen doubts and thinks of scores of reasons to, well, ‘think again’!
Pooja and Nishant had a similar scenario, where they clicked right from the word go. Yet, each of them decided to take it easy. Slowly yet steadily Pooja started falling for the unrelenting charm of the honest, flirty yet respectful and full-of-life Nishant. She loved his fervor for travel and dedication in love – he had started making her happy.
Will You...?
Hence came the surprise proposal on her birthday on 28th October, 2020. How could she resist this grand, straight-from-the-heart gesture! The house backyard in their Canada home was the backdrop to this magical moment, where they said their mutual ‘Yes’s’.
The true blue, pretty as a picture, Gujarati Sindhan and the suave Kolkata-raised Punjabi Nishant decided to seal the deal. Everyone was excited and the wedding preparations started with a bang. They envisioned a stunning destination ceremony in picturesque Goa, but Covid restricted their plans. Toronto, ON, Canada is where the wedding took place at a dreamy venue with a lake in the background, lots of nature and lights and more. Pooja’s adoration for peacocks, flowers and other nature symbolisms reflected in themes, arrangements and her special ensembles.
Shopping Vows (pun intended)
Like most NRI brides, Pooja wondered and worried about getting the right apparels for her D-Day and other functions. With travel and options restricted, she reached out to her friends in India. She was fortunate to have found that her BFF was visiting Ahmedabad. Without wasting another moment, she asked her to visit Asopalav, Pooja’s favorite store for wedding shopping. Together, they selected the Mehendi outfit in less than 5 minutes. The very next day, they also stamped the seal of approval on a splendid cool blue, flowers’ sprawled, dainty yet statement, peacock-inspired Indo Western Lehenga Choli for the reception function.
The Outfits
Though Pooja’s favorite part of her gala shaadi is her ‘I-Do’ ceremony, she is simply in love with the entire series of events and her magnificent dresses. Deeply grateful to the Universe, her dear friend and Asopalav, she cherishes the cute yellow and bohemian blue outfits.
Mehendi Outfit
A bright yellow, contemporary Lehenga Choli with a mirror-worked corset-like blouse and a frilly, girly, fabulous skirt with multi-hued floral motifs all over.
Reception Outfit
In tune with her vibrant spirit and peacock theme, the majestic and grand yet subtle and light blue and white Indo Western lehenga choli is Pooja’s favorite. She found it so comfy, fun and easy to wear and, in it, felt like the perfect new-age, vivacious, new bride – that she is!
